Bio

I am a California native, former teacher and journalist, an eco enthusiast, open water swimmer, and amateur baker. After graduating from the University of Southern California with a dual degree in Journalism and English Literature, I ventured to London for two years to write and explore. I returned to California, the land I love, and completed my teaching credential. After 34 years in the public schools, I retired. I am active in SCBWI and various online writing communities.

I have two books out with Logos Publishing House (now shuddered): This Girl Climbs Trees (2012) and Birds on a Wire (2013). My work has appeared in The Writing Disorder, Teaching Tolerance, and Oakbook magazine, and I am a RevPit 2018 winner.

I am represented by Rebecca Angus and Howland Literary.

I am available for school, bookstore, and library visits. Book me before October 1, 2024, for free! (Travel costs not included outside California.) Contact me using the form below.
